THE ROSE
The Rose was originally part of a three-brand concept: a music venue, its connected bar, and the pizza joint downstairs. The music venue had been established in Jackson Hole for decades as the Pink Garter Theatre, but was in dire need of renovations and rebranding. The concept was to have the combined draw of a revamped, premier music venue connected to Jackson’s first craft cocktail bar—The Rose—and with a casual pizza joint at street level attracting foot traffic, being named Pinky G’s.
Several years after launching, The Rose invested in an award worthy kitchen and attracted Michelin-starred chef René Stein to helm the new food program. This included intimate chef’s tasting menu events at Sub Rosa with direct views of the kitchen at work.
Project
The full Identity Design included multiple logos—The Rose, Pink Garter Theatre, Pinky G's, Sub Rosa, Pink Garter Ventures—various menu formats and evolutions, illustrations, and collateral including coasters, check presenters, match boxes, advertisements, merchandise, signage & decals, special event materials, and music posters. We wanted a common design thread for all 3 main brands, which is why the rose element also appears in the Pink Garter Theatre and Pinky G’s logos.
The menu illustrations were a fun way to combine cocktail imagery with musical elements, further connecting The Rose and Pink Garter Theatre together visually.
Pinky G's eventually broke off into its own beast, opening multiple outposts across 4 states and appearing twice on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives.
